The Coast 9 developer project is a single-level research laboratory facility located in San Diego, California. It is currently one of the most adaptable research spaces in the area, accommodating both micro and macro changes without inhibiting the clients pursuit of science. Creating a “future proof” laboratory for this developer allowed the tenant to have a functional and esthetically pleasing work environment. It also provided the owner with a reconfigurable space that functions for future tenants, while eliminating down-time and costly reconfiguration expenses.
