The Coast 9 developer project is a single level research laboratory facility located in San Diego, California. It is currently one of the most adaptable research spaces in the area, accommodating both micro and macro changes without inhibiting the clients pursuit of science.
The first goal for CiF was to provide a “future proof” laboratory for this developer which allowed their tenant to have a functional and esthetically pleasing work environment. The second goal was to provide the owner with a reconfigurable space that functions for future tenants, while eliminating down time and costly reconfiguration expenses. The end product was a completely modular laboratory furniture system with features and benefits not previously available to the market.
The project team included SRA, Inc. an award-winning and internationally recognized architectural firm, headquartered in Vancouver as the project architect and lab planner. SRA, Inc. worked alongside Wesinco, as the general contractor on the project.
CiF Lab Solutions provided premium M-line casework, Laboratory Work Stations and APEX-air Fume Hoods. The project budget for laboratory casework and equipment was $300,000.
